Ever been jealous of people who have all the
new and fresh ideas? Are they brighter than you? Probably not. They are for
the most part people who like to play, experiment and have found fun
ways to put old things together in new ways. QBDT was designed to allow the
designer to work fast, allowing for more experimentation, accidents,
discoveries and fun.
QBDT is a light-weight design tool for quilters who have been looking for
a means to visualize design possibilities before cutting up good fabric.
It is not meant to be a major quilt program, rather a fun approach to
discovering new exciting quilt block ideas. It utilizes drag and drop technology
with nothing to draw. Presently it is limited to square and half-square
(triangular) pieces.
The basic package is free, but
you will have to register to establish a username (one username per person).
For designers who want more functionality there is a membership fee of
$20/year. This includes saving and recalling block designs and fabric palettes.
It also allows for combining multiple blocks to see how they
work together. To join the QBDT design group see
Joining QBDT, but first register, play with it and see if you like it.
QBDT.com is a new site and a work in progress. I am a programmer with a design background. I am not a quilter. What you see here has been inspired by quilters and good friends. It is important for the development of QBDT to let me know what you want to see in this design tool. Currently I am working on a forum page, encouraging members to exchange their ideas. You can email me at comments@qbdt.com . Thank you very much for visiting my website and I hope to hear from you soon. - 03-31-06
